Unconventional Vocaloid Recommendations
Apr. 26th, 2016 08:08 pm I was inspired by Rachie doing a top-ten video, not to do a top-ten post of my own, but to do a more practical sort of rec post. After all, it’s not really about finding the best Vocaloid song (we will NEVER agree) but about finding that one song you can get your friend to listen to. So, here are a bunch of weirdly specific recommendations for the people you may know in real life/on Tumblr.
- For your friend who gets fascinated by technology (i.e. my favorite realistic-sounding Vocaloid, though technically ONE is a Cevioloid): Mirai by Atols feat. ONE
- For your friend who refuses to listen to anything that is not mainstream pop: Sad Machine by Porter Robinson (feat. Avanna)
- For your friend who reads waaaay too much shoujo manga: Friday’s Good Morning by Honey Works feat. Gumi
- For your friend who has been trying to convince you to watch Hamilton by talking about the musical genre mash-up for the last four months: Tokio Funka by takamatt feat. Gumi
- For your friend that is still sad about Homestuck ending and needs something else with dead children and time loops in their life: The Kagerou Project by Jin (Shizen no Teki-P) feat. IA and Hatsune Miku
- For your friend who is really fed up with their country’s education system: The Lost One’s Weeping by Neru feat. Kagamine Rin
- For your friend who has been devouring the dystopian YA novels like candy: This is the Happiness and Peace of Mind Committee by Utata-P feat. Hatsune Miku
- For your gamer friend who needs new epic background music: Soleil by travolta-P feat. Kagamine Rin
- For your friend who reblogs the really weird vines: When I Get Home My Wife Always Pretends To Be Dead by Hobonichi-P feat. Kaito
- For the nerdiest person you know: Challenging to Pi of 1,200 Digits in English on “Unfragment,” a cover of Hanasoumen-P’s song by π-P feat. Megurine Luka
